It encompasses everything needed to progress from assessment to intervention. Participants will learn how to use emotionally driven sensory-motor play to support engagement in intervention and daily life. This 4-week course is the second in the series and is designed for occupational therapy clinicians, mental health practitioners, early childcare providers, early intervention specialists, and speech therapists seeking to apply and expand their knowledge and skills in sensory and emotional processing in children and adolescents. Clinician participants present case studies from their own practice with work through the lens of Sensory Emotional Personalities and the Sensory-motor Emotional EngageMent Frame of Reference to receive peer and expert feedback.
This course fosters collaborative learning through collective problem-solving, while enhancing the application of the P.L.A.Y. framework to meet the sensory emotional needs of clients and results in developing expertise in identifying sensory emotional challenges, tailoring interventions, and supporting clients’ emotional regulation and social participation.

Participants will explore their own Sensory Emotional Personality styles, enhancing their understanding of how these dynamics influence their interactions with clients. Through reflective practice, this course will empower therapists to enhance their practice by deepening their understanding of Sensory Emotional dynamics, ultimately benefiting the children and families they serve.
